6-day protection?

This might sound silly, but the beginner protection period doesn't match with the description in this thread. There is a six-day protection period (which is verifiable -- just try to attack another player). Is this a bug, or was there an error in the description?

They must have extended the beginer protection period as 3 days is too short for a .75 speed world.

The protection always was 6 days, it was just wrong in the announcement. The announcement was wrong: the help pages and attack denied message are correct.
