cheating

if a player is banned for somehow cheating,

what should the punishment be ? (im just interested in others opinions on this topic)

and should they be named and shamed, across the "TRIBAL WARS" fraternity (im sure this could be arranged)

it would be good for anyone reading this to post a reply, thanks.....d

It really depends on what they did.
i.e, multiaccounting is far worse than having a slightly inappropriate profile.

Yeah cheaters suck. I think the punishments already implemented are good enough from what I've seen...only thing that would be better is if TW "marked" the cheaters for all to see. :icon_razz:

I would love this, just an icon on the map over every village of a banned player would be enough.

I think this would make people think hard about breaking the rules if we had something like this happen, I like this idea how about you scott LOL.

To be honest, this is a terrible idea. I was the result of a LOT of bannings before, and I'll tell you right now, even though some people wound up banned multiple times, it wouldn't be fair to 'mark' them. Because I was going out of my way to find infractions. Not to mention sometimes, SOMETIMES people get banned for some pretty major things, then somehow get them overturned... (I can think of cases of people who wouldn't get marked, yet should, and others where the people shouldn't get marked... but would)

That being said, I do see your point, that some things people get banned for are more major than others. Perhaps it would be better just to mark villages that have been removed from banned players? That would also have the side effect of helping both their tribe and other tribes find all of those villages easier so they can try and get them.

No he was saying that he was going out of his way to get people banned for trivial things. I don't think its a good idea either, bit of a biased opinion since I have been banned before :icon_eek: but surely the punishment of having your villages removed is enough.

Couldn't pass up the opportunity of posting in the same thread as Doom and Mic xD
I've never been banned but I have had to suffer people being banned from within the tribe and that in itself is enough of a hassle. If people get banned for a major thing it quite often gets through the community either on here or on skype but I'm pretty sure mods deliberately discourage discussing bans on the forum ... so it's all a bit unlikely

joe is correct. More precisely, he got banned 3 times. (To my knowledge) lol. In his case though, it was for trivial things... (Well, depending on your viewpoint...) I don't think it would be fair to 'mark' him, any penalty he had ingame should've been sufficient.

But someone else... like oh.... CharlieFive.... who posts links to porn, passes out peoples private contact information in circular letters to harass the player, and other fun things like that, walked away with no penalty. (I realize he lost an account... but this wasn't just on the C5 account, it was also on the DB account...)

By this system, Joe would've gotten marked ingame, but C5 wouldn't have.


Oh, and hi mico! Hi Hackypoo! No, I'm not still around. Haven't played this game since I retired 15 months ago. (Well, not for longer then 1-2 hours, lol)

Sounds fair to me...:icon_wink: And I'm pretty sure it would have been the crazy Geo that did these things and not the kind and level-headed C5. But either way they're both waaay cooler than that stinky Joe guy.:icon_biggrin:
