let's say you attack another player's village. and that village is too far to reach by the church that the troops come from..if you have another villge next to the village your attacking, will the troops from villge1 get effected by village 2's church?

but since

it seems that the troops came from a churched (in church radii village), the attack will be performed by religious troops.

On another case if you sent out troops to attack from a village within none church range (Belief: -), this will result in a half strength attack despite the fact that the target will be in some other village's of yours church range. Only hope to get an even fight in this case, is that also the enemy village might be an unchurched one as well...

Religion gives you better fighting power, in short.

Basically, you can attack anywhere, and as long as the village the attack is sent from is religious, the attack will be religious.
For defence, the village must be influenced by the church in order to have religion - this includes support.
