is co-playing (2 people running an account) legal on this world?

Just make sure the other player doesn't already play the same world as you.

what about at the beginning of the world where one account is left alone to be farmed while the other is used, is that ok?

If it's been sent for deletion then it's ok. But if you can still log in and use the account then it is illegal.
