Disintergration effect

Hi Guys,

Question: How do you do a disintegration effect in GIMP? I really need help with this one. I am stuck. I followed this tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1qmjyaYJTo) but I cannot get the Plasma layer to be the target for the displacement.

whats the tutorial Josh? cant see it to have a look.......

one thing i have noticed when doing displacement layers b4 in gimp is that you have to have the 2 layers (the layer to be displaced and the displacement layer itself) quite close together in your stack of layers.
