Greetings everyone,
I just wanted to confirm the "rumors" that DAVOE has joined the BLOC.
With discussions going on awhile in regards to THE merging with REL, I felt it was necessary to keep an "eye out" for possible new additions to the BLOC.. much like we did at the beginning of the world. I'd been keeping my eye on DAVOE for awhile now, and felt that if the merger between THE and REL did occur, they would be the best candidate. I had proposed the idea to Mizaru awhile back to give her time to think about it, then when the THE/REL merger went into effect, I made the formal proposition. This morning she agreed to the BLOC rules and accepted their position as the NW leader of the BLOC. DAVOE was my first and only choice with all this, so I am happy that they have accepted it. Their diplomacy had gotten to the point where it was very similar to the BLOC's diplomacy to begin with, so there wasn't any real changes in that regard.
My reasons for wanting them into the BLOC was essentially based on geographics and teamplay. I speak with Mizaru on a regular basis and have been impressed with the way that they work together as a tribe, something that we expect out of the rest of our BLOC tribes. Geographically as well, since it had been pre-determined that THE/REL (now TRE) would be the leaders of the NE quadrant, DAVOE lands pretty snuggly into the NW. No other tribes have any decent coordination/intelligence in the NW (such as KNT, etc) so there was no need to look any further. Thankfully DAVOE did wind up being a NW tribe.. had they not been, the NW would have been a BLOC-less controlled quadrant for quite some time, unless TRE decided to rule all of the North.
In regards to the relations between DAVOE and the BLOC before their joining the BLOC.. what can I say, I hold no side "at fault" for that. There have obviously been stabs from our tribes at theirs, and vice versa, on the forums in the past. That of course is bound to happen due to them essentially being an "opposite faction", even if the terms were a friendly NAP. The BLOC has recognized not to take them personally, and DAVOE has taken that stance as well upon joining the BLOC.
Anyhow, I think that about sums it up for me. So once again.. please welcome DAVOE to the BLOC, as we are happy to have them aboard. Those that aren't happy about it would be our enemies, I'd say.
