Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the scanlines should be confined to either the button, or the blue bg. Not over both.

Might require some clipping mask skill but it's possible. Try it GE.

They've said they want to asign us a new mod soon so it should be fine.
More people want to enter anyway, and as the final date hasnt been reached, im open to entries.

This is a weekly competition, so basically it should be open only one week, you started this on 10th so we still have time till 16-17, IMO if we ddin't have a Mod until that day, just ask an elder to make it for us.

The closure date is the 17th, if I dont recieve over 10 sigs, it will be poll.
If I recieve over 10, it will be a post to vote.
