I've bolded each tribe that I think is worth commenting on, for good or bad reasons. The rest I don't see lasting a month, but can't specify how they will go down.
Colour Code
Blue = good.
Red = expecting to fail.
Black = Intriguing.
1. Quit
This could go one of two ways. Either be a phenomenal success without any barb-related issues. Or will experience alienated members from the duke's specific style of leading. I am leaning towards the second purely based on his reputation and public persona, but then again who am I to judge? Hopefully he'll prove me wrong.
5. WET
I know this tribe from 2 past worlds. Or rather, a number of members in it who play under the WET tag every time they join a world together. They know what to do and how to last in the core until a fairly lengthy way through mid-game, having done it on two occasions before. They were the best challenge I've personally had in a conflict in W52 and W62, and so I'm looking forward to seeing them reproduce that again here.
8. NiNi
Is this the W52 NiNi? If not, I have no clue about this tribe. The name caught my eye.
14. Deal
I haven't seen anybody mention this tribe yet publicly, but I really think people should look more closely. They look like intriguing, to say the least.
17. AFLAC
Most people seem to like them publicly. When I say most people...it's mainly been their own members. For me, people rubbing their own ego this early on before they have actually achieved anything on the world suggests a lot of things. None of them good. I could be wrong on them and hope they prove me wrong as the duke is a nice enough guy, but the memberlist has some recent history of less-than-decent comrade-ship in previous worlds and has a tendency to try to make everything about them.
24. Panic!
Anybody near them who wants to play long-term? If so, get a coalition together and begin catting before they do anything to you. Just kidding! This tribe, if they pull through start-up, will be a challenger long-term for the world win. Tactical diplomatically with some very talented individual players in the tribe. Their approach is effective, as is demonstrated by 2(?) world wins.
25. Joker
Something about them caught my eye. Ashoka1 is leader? Don't personally know much about it beyond its forum persona, and I'm unsure based on that how good its leadership is. I am assuming there are some friends of its in the tribe, and I think this is another 'lurker', just like
Deal.
