seems like an easy fix for this right ?

just look in the database to see what the most amount of packs was that was bought by 1 account.
then simply give all players that same amount of packs.
and refund the people that bought their money.

then we are back to a level playing field and everyone has an equal amount of packs and noone is out of any money, and legal wise u are also covered, youre not taking away something people bought, they can keep the item they bought but youre refunding their money and youre giving it for free to all the players who didnt buy.

doesnt seem like rocket science

Yes, but then Inno has to give back the money they earned from their mistake. And we all know that will never happen.

So instead, the community manager comes here to talk a big game about how it is clear from their end that the impact it would have has been limited well, and apologizes for this mistake, then they give everyone else a single res boost item that comes from a single pack and call it a day. They're now on the phase of their plan where they just be quiet and wait for it to all blow over.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game, I am sad that it is on the decline, and I would happily spend money on it (and have in the past) if it was better managed, and wasn't obviously just a cash grab/microtransactions (the cancer of the gaming industry). But I haven't spent any money on this game in years, and I don't plan to, because things like this demonstrate very clearly that Inno is a crappy company that doesn't care about the players, doesn't care about the community, doesn't care about making an enjoyable game/experience that would make people want to pay them anything. Instead they'd rather exploit their playerbase psychologically and financially (competitive game with p2w boosts for instant gratification, making you feel compelled to throw your money away), forcing microtransactions and p2w models down our throats until we quit.

So while they do that, I'll spend my money on developers who actually care about their playerbase instead, like CD Projekt Red (Witcher 3) and Obsidian (Pillars of Eternity). Two games that I honestly feel are worth more than they cost even at full price, and am happy to pay for.

Loved witcher 3 and just got Pillars of Eternity. I'm struggling going back to 90's RPG style though. The new flashy graphics and gameplay of witcher has got me hooked on the new gen of consoles.

TW has 100% turned into a microtransaction cash grab like most games now adays.
