Why are there so many sig threads?

What is it with people nowadays? It seems that 90% of threads created on these forums are plainly about sigs. I guess it's good if you love sigs, but really its getting to a point where there are gonna be more sig threads than people to post in them soon :|

This totally bemuses me.
