Four Easy Steps to help yourself NOT get hacked

I use NOD32 and have not had any problems at all until a few days ago. A virus has someone invaded my system. A nasty awful virus. It does nothing actually except creating smaller viruses which keed making NOD pop alerts. It does a fine job protecting me but it is a bad experience getting 50 alerts a day.

It seems to me that it has somehow interfered with my browser. My internet connection is pretty crappy from yesterday and the problem is not with my supervisor. Pages are tediously loaded with most pictures not even showing up. Also to get to another page I must reload a hundred times, because something cancels it every time. I have no explanation as to what is the reason.

Tried the programs listed in here but the virus is still on PC. If you have any suggestions of programs that could help me erase it, please tell me.

@b00k: Maybe these guys have the answer.

I used to have Norton and my pc was fine, a while back i think i got a virus or something.
Now that i reformatted it(two months), i did not put any anti-virus back in. I'm still safe and i still browse the internet safely. Watch porn too. lol

LOVE YOU!!!

Followed the steps, though the real solution was avast. I was suspecting a certain program NOD32 detected a few times. Avast also gave me the chance to delete and said that the virus started with...I can't really explain it.

The important thing is that my internet connection is now perfect.

All i can say is, Norton i have always Hated, its an awful Anti-Virus System.

I would rather pay for AVG Premium then Norton.

Nod32 i was fine with until a while back a virus got control of Nod and used it to block of most of my internet i.e only mIRC would work, the rest refused to connect.

Screwed me up for ages until i noticed in Processes "egui.exe" which kept reloading i.e Nod32 file.

I'm usually using kaspersky and sometimes a Rootkit and Malware-cleaner like Combofix. Its fast and efficient.
Well, not all sites i visit are that serious ^^

Right now i'm using Ubuntu (OS) ... the better Anti-virus and Anti-malware ;-)

Serious hackers who are determined to gain access to someone's account will most likely perform research. Personally I would advise against choosing passwords such as DOB, childrens names, your own name, football teams etc.

If you do in fact decide to choose any of the above make sure you include numbers and symbols.

Thanks for this guide lizy

I didn't have a problem with my computer. but my dad's is infected and he wanted me to fix it

He thinks that because i've played a computer game for a year and a half that i'm a computer super genius. unfortunately it's now only perpetuating a false stereotype of me being able to fix broken technology....

Just a reccomendation for mac users: Even though most viruses won't affect you, it's still a good idea to get Antivirus/anti-Spyware programs etc.*

For macs, I'd use iAntivirus.

I found AVGv8 made my PC unstable; changed to Avast and everything OK
