Mine-Whoring strategy on limited haul worlds?

I was focusing on just the one village stage, where the cap does increase daily by 1000 but is spread over small increments of 41.7 resources (1/24 * 1000, which is actually 41.6 recurring) every hour, as Kachine said. To find out your haul limit, use this equation:
1000 + (Hours on world/24 + Number of villages)*1000
So, 3 hours into the world your haul limit will be 2125 resources.




Glad to know you found the information, a lot of it I picked up by playing a previous limited hauls world. There is a page on the Tribal Wars help page which gives a basic introduction to limited hauls here. Also, this link includes some more technical settings about the world not shown on the world settings page, such as that the hard cap for this world is 100 000 resources. The latter link also answers your question about resource production;

The normal 'base production' is 30, so this world will producing 1/3 more resources than most worlds. Thus a level 30 mine would produce 4800 resources an hour (2400*(30/40)*1.5).

Umm ok lets simplify this so ill write what i would do and then what you would do and we can compare the differences..


my side... day 1i would mine whore and then when i have enough resources to be able to complete the quests to get the spears and swords i will get them once i have them i will farm with them until my farming is capped in the meantime and afterwards i would continue to mine whore.. although it would cost me1345 resources i will gain 1k resources from farming in that 24 hours alone afterwards i will continue to mine whore so i would of lost 30 mins max and 345 resources. day 2 i would then continue to mine whore and so would you the only differnce i wouold then gain 2k resources the next day more than you, you might be 1lvl higher on all mines then me so lets say that would level out the 2k i get from farming. day3 you would then have to build the hq and barracks etc losing 1345 resources. in the mean time i have then caught up with your mine levels and we are all square on mine levels and troops gained. the only differnce between our two tactics is i will be on higher points then you for the first 2 days so no difference there and both require same time and effort to upgrade mines /farm so all in all we are both wrong and neither tactic is better or worse just your preference... this is not 100% correct there may be lets say 100 resources one way or another i am not fussed to do the long math needed to calculate this and i dont think anyone should



dont get me wrong lol I know this the quests are designed like that, the difference is in time management.
From what little I know about the game winners never have idle time in queues, waiting until your queues are running to cover the time cost not res cost is my point.

either ways yes of course every player will end up in a perfect world with the same but there are variables for example lost units due to spiking etc.. Saving the farming process to the point where your ques are not left idle makes sense in my head with time management limiting those costly variables.

so while your farming the difference I am queuing the mines which produce res instantly from the upgrade faster than the farming your doing and when I get round to farming I am ahead because mines produce res every hour and have been way before yours.

I will stop right there because I can see this blowing up in to a flame war of yeah you will be idle waiting for res for that higher mine etc etc.. :) I'm just following basic time management principles namely time vs risk/reward.

Alternatively you could play Jobson-style and go 20/20/17 to academy.

Easiest strategy to get ahead fast is have a friend start near you they build troops and kill anyone who might be a threat. You mine whore and push for nobles. Then noble them. They become your coplsyer and you have two relatively built villages.


This sounds like a plan

Yes.

And I don't think he is, I think the best strat would be to always have enough troops to be able to reach the limited cap as quick as possible as that may allow for mines to be built a few hours or so earlier giving a very slight lead. Then again never played a limited haul world before.

Ehh last time there were days I didnt farm at all. still kept top 20 hovered around 10 easily and started late. General rule of thumb in tw, people are dumb make poor decisions, if you simply build intelligently you'll do just fine [/spoil]

That's what I'm gonna do with my swords I get from the quest.. Show people why they should've gone for mines and not other stuff heheh

Exactly. They will get a huge set back. Lose all those spears, have to rebuild them, but WAIT! They don't have the resources! OMG THEY LOSE! /restart

well, i started 2 hours late and only 1 player in my 7x7 has grown past 26 points , so i dont think my barbs will be spiked any time soon.

not that it would consern me that much as I dont like spears and swords as much as i like axes and rams...

Axes and rams yo clap your hands,....

play by your area, either way your going to need a hand full of swords n spears period. Keep in mind other people are not playing so deffencively.
