opinions on play-style your 1st village

Ok I have been curious as to how people as to what people think is a good way to run their 1st village.

So a world opens up and your all new to it, some turtle, some rush, others are aggressive and go full OFF from the start whilst a few go mix. What I want to hear is people's opinions on how they start. I'm not asking for your village builds but how you think and what you do to get a start.

I personally think that going all OFF when surrounded by equally active players is a bad choice, being as they have no real DEF strength at all. You kinda leave you self open if you don't hit everyone.

Like I said I don't want your plans just your thoughts.

please continue...

I usually go full offense but I tend to have maybe 100-200 spears that I start my farming off with.

well first you spam spears to farm, i always stop when i hit 200 (often at 100 if farming has been excellent and I've already got stables) now depending on hour quick im making spears depends if i build 20 swords as escorts. then i build about 50 odd axes to ferry them all to barbs so i dont lose any spears. But once I get up to lc absolutely whore them like you are never going to be able to make them again, after that you gotta upgrade you barracks to start producing axes fast enough to catch your lc count. But normally once you have 200 lc or so you can keep the queues full across the board.

The active areas, it only matters if you're growing at the same speed as your 15x15. Usually I have scouts and lc long before the rest of them have even got axes. As the game progresses i clear each player once i have enough troops to kill them (because im growing 10x faster than most).

Really if you're actively farming 24/7 doing something like that ^ you shouldn't have to worry about other players within your farming zone, because all the villages in your zone are being farmed by you, leaving little to no res for the other players soon stunting their growth (in the mean time you are growing faster and faster and will clear their little troop count soon enough). As for the 24/7 thing i recommend either bringing a friend who's the opposite time zone for night sitting, waking up every three hours to farm or just get a co-player :p So in the end if you're active enough, D is just pop space you can't devote to more axes. 9 times out of 10 my spears hit a spike or a farm fights back and i lose the 200 and replace them with more lc or something.

**** I would like to add that if I get the bonfire as my first weapon that I do make a lot more cats to use as support ****

I tend to start by building resource buildings and hurrying to scouts while farming as much as I can to provide an additional income line for my troop budget

cool cool this actually got more attention then i expected. it was originally intended to see if people figured an all OFF build was good, i ask because a player near me has gone all OFF and has no DEF what so ever and can be killed by half his numbers he done even use scouts hehe..

To me this is stupid but others whom have posted seem to be all up for the OFF lol

Pure off is good becuase:

1. You don't need def if you are active enough and can backtime
2. Until nobles are up and running you can meerly dodge all incom with minimal losses unless cats :icon_rolleyes:
3. You can clear anyone that is a threat to you.
4. People think you're pro from your ODA :icon_cool:

But not using scouts is silly, you still want to scout people to see whether they turtle or not etc

Basically, Offense is good if you're active enough to dodge +/or backtime
Defense is good if you want to be a bitch and be less active.

A tribe of 15 total nubs, whoa re all at 1.5K, but have cats and def villages attack you.
Wat do?
if you dodge, your farm ans smithy are downgraded to level 10 each
if you attempt to defend, your offense is slaughtered by their combined defenses
If you backtime, they stack

That is why defense helps, and you will find that truly good tribes make a solid defense a requirement.

Im with you on this 1 i know it doesnt help late game but i tend to mix village my 1st before "purifying" them once i got a new one. Mainly because OFF troops have absolutly crap DEF stats.

E.G. you can kill approx. 2K axe and 500 LC and 20 rams behind a lvl 15 wall with just about half of that. (in all fairness it takes about half a nuke to kill a full nuke)

whilst say 800 each DEf befind same wall can see off the above mentioned example and still have change.

you dont need alot admittingly but i do find the most vital point in which to defend your 1st village is when looking to go for your 1st claim.

if you and the others round you are roughly the same speed in growth, you will all be looking to noble so why not go for one of the other guys, even if you had 1.5K each def its not alot in comprison behindalvl 20 wall you have abetter chance of survival

chances that 15 little noobs will coordinate an attack on you are minimal and even if it happens you should be able to defend if you're in a tribe, and if small noobs have 1.5k then you should already have at least 2 villages and be in a decent tribe

and the noobs should be out of your 15x15 which gives you more than enough time to prepare

if you know how to play aggressively and go pure offense, only another offense player will be able to defeat you over a backtime or a noble train, little players rarely attack bigger players and even when they do, they fail most of the time

1.5k points player with lots of cats in village...
To be honest never saw that.

15 of them at the start of the game and able to coordinate...its like 0,000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 chance for that.
