W18 Milestones (v2)

Clearly no-one is maintaining the other Milestones thread therefore I have elected to maintain my own (unofficial so please don't sticky) milestones thread.

In order to avoid accusations of "cheating" I have clearly defined those of my milestones that could be regarded as subject to interpretation. Unsurprisingly these are all in the tribal milestones bit of the post.

For those milestones that may have suffered re-definition over time I have simply deleted the earlier milestones for which I cannot guarantee their elligibility. This isn't to say that the tribes that achieved those milestones didn't, I just want to ensure consistency. Of course the stickied w18 milestones thread should persist so, if you feel the need to compare and contrast, please feel free to do so.

You may also notice that I have reduced the interval between some of the later milestones. This mainly due to the fact that some of the milestones had stagnated due to the near exponential growth of the milestones themselves, while the potential for achieving them has dropped in a reciprocal fashion.

Average Points - This milestone was subjective in the stickied thread, hence the debate and the subsequent "breakaway" of this thread. Here I simply stipulate that in order to qualify for this milestone the tribe must have a minimum of 40 members. For tribes of fewer members their total points are divided by 40.

Note: I understand that certain tribes (notably G.Khan) that were recognised as having achieved average point milestones may have done so without the 40 members that I regard as the "minimum" tribe size. I have had to remove those milestones in order to keep the milestones consistent. Therefore the 5K through 1M milestones have been removed as compliance with above definition could not be guaranteed. Please check the stickied thread if you are interested in which tribes achived these milestones (bearing in mind the potential inconsistencies with respect to tribe size).

I created this thread because Mad imposed some changes to the other thread that I didn't agree with, without consulting me first (either in private or on this forum).

He did this for what he preceives are legitimate and fair reasons: He did some investigation (credit to him) as a result of the on-going war of words (see other thread) and determined that my definitions were not in-sync with a comment made within a similar thread a couple of years ago (that I was unaware of, and couldn't care less about). I suggested that if he wanted to impose certain controls on that thread as an "official" thread then he would have to maintain it and I "quit" as thread maintainer.

This thread is different to the other because I have clearly defined each milestone so there can be no dispute about definitions AND, more importantly, it is being maintained.

Yes I am. You're not the only person on these forums that acts on "principle", although yours appear to be more "goal-driven" i.e. getting your tin-pot, flash-in-the-pan tribe onto the milestones on the basis of any potential interpretation of that milestone that you can find.

You act on pride, not principle. They are different words, you should look them up.

And it was not my interpretation, it was THE interpretation that has been followed since the beginning of the milestone. Hence why over half the tribes on the list had less than 40 members when they took that milestone. You are just too prideful to admit you are wrong, even with all the evidence staring you in the face.

Swordnuke gave a good formula to use but either you missed it or chose to dismiss it. It seems to me that you are not the one that has to be convinced that was a fair and equitable formula. The decision was made by consensus of both past and present players... go with the majority and please close just this thread...

Unless something has changed, I am fairly certain that we cannot force anyone to update a thread. If he chooses not to do so, then that's his choice. I believe Zurtle has expressed an interest in keeping the milestones up-to-date. So he should have that duty.

G.Khan should be the owner of the Average points milestone. G.Khan had 35 members. How is that not close enough to 40? They were elite enough to be just as good as other tribes with half the members. They should be remembered through the history of TW in the milestone. That is their milestone. I may have to disagree with Zurtle with his tribe, given the length of time that it was together for. But I think that G.Khan should, undoubtedly, be in this.

I do not doubt the elite status of G.Khan, I just don't know when they achieved the milestone (as I have defined it). It is for that reason that I have had to drop the milestones below 2M from my list. If someone could tell me when G.Khan reached the milestone (again, according to my definition) then I will gladly re-introduce the relevant milestone. All I know is G.Khan did not achieve any of the ones I have presented before the 3 tribes I have presented.

SN provided a completely cr*p formula. One designed purely for his own agenda.

I'm not going to get into an argument about this thread. I have clearly stated the criteria for each milestone. They are transparent and not subject to individual agendas.

I created the thread because the other one was essentially wrested from my control. No one has stepped forward to take over the thread. Before you say "We can't" you could have done precisely as I have done for this thread.

So... those of you that wish to argue over my milestone definitions I would suggest you look at the other thread. For those that are happy for me to maintain the milestones as I have defined them, please keep an eye on this thread.
