lol - well I think I can put myself firmly in the group who "Dont" understand it - after several hours use I produced what can only be called a Turd in Sig form - Will stick with what I have and respect to the sig builders lol.

Jobe, I had the same difficulties when I started - I learned 1 new thing every now and then. Eventually it all builds up. Just mess around, especially with the filters, and you will find some cool stuff.
Some of the easiest things to do for new gimp users that looks decent is using supernova's
Under filters, one of the first ones, lights and effects or something, use supernova You can o it on the image, to create a star like thing, or off the image, but where the light still comes onto the pic, or you see some of the spokes
really easy to do, and gets you used to using some of the effects.

Also, you can overlay parts of pictures to make an awesome sig.
Take the one I currently have, for example.
Some people may think it's one picture, however, it's actually 4 with different lighting effects and different portions of pictures to get it just right.

Oh and for future reference, in case you're wondering if it's an MKC, look for the =^-^= somewhere faintly on the siggy. They all have it.

I had that problem Sober, my finished product can only be described as resembling the finished product of my toilet bowl!
(And that was with Gimp) - My options are to hit up a better Siggy maker or carry on with my less than impressive rock/hardplace lol
