I would like to apologize for the newspaper suddenly stop running but real life prevented me from having anything to do with tw for a good couple of weeks.
As last time the paper will be released every two weeks and we are always looking to have new additions to the team. If you would like to become a part of the paper team mail me with your idea and we will take it from there.
Note: We are currently most in need of a map maker. Please submit samples of your work via forum/ingame mail if you would like to be considered for this roll within 12 days.
Post comments in the thread, and we will try to take everything our readers say on board for further improvements.

Interview with King Geldwolf Of MANIC on 15/02/10

This interview was done at the height of the war against MANIC, just under two weeks ago. It was few days after Rivers left and came back and things didn't look good for MANIC crew.
At this stage it doesn't look like King Geldwolf is active and his whereabouts is unknown. MANIC is no longer a viable tribe in W42. Bio! and TOP have won a victory in less than three weeks.
Yet, it is important to give the appropriate space to a W42 historical figure who many will agree made this world more interesting and colorful than it already is. So here it is:

You have to realize, that in the past week 2 of my leaders quit...
River who was my co leader since day one on this game, not only this world.
And Deb, who was co leader on world 10 world 24, and head baron on this world...
They both quit with their own motives, but it hurt...
With river quitting, also another baron of mine who was head baron on world 24 quit.
Then we had the big guy's (K25 now called OM) leave...
So yeah everything came at me so fast, so severe that I felt it as a punch in the face.
After 2 3 days of panic, people stepped up, normal members did the jobs of the barons, and barons did the job of the leaders.
Renegade rejoined MANIC, and has accepted my offer of co leader.
Everything is coming back in order, though, I will not say its done yet... we made a good start, but still a long way to go, a way with a lot of turns in it...

He is indeed back, he even has baron privileges, not a title or a job, but he needs them to function better... you cannot go from 3 years of full rights as a duke, to noting, he needs the access, just not allowed to use them.
He’s not back as a leader, I want to make this clear for everyone.
What he did to MANIC is no less then betrayal, I made that very clear to him, but I can put things behind me, and give someone a second chance, after all, without river, I wouldn’t even be on this game, let alone leading a tribe, or be so successful.
He really was responsible for 80% of the leadership, I’m just the face of manic
If he disappoints me again, he knows he has to go, and there will be no return, if he however succeeds, he can become a full baron.

The reason for this was simple, I trust my allies, and needed my members to focus on the enemy...
AOK are supporting us, not a load yet, as we haven’t requested that much, but where asked, they respond, and fairly quick I might add....
Of course just like every alliance we have our issues, usually cross-noblings haha, but they are a fun bunch of guys and so far I can not say anything bad about them.

2, They lied to me before about having a diplomatic relationship, so I have no reason to trust them whatsoever.

It is easy to gloat now (and this might spark a debate), but I hope that will be kept to a minimum and those who participated in taking MANIC down can enjoy and celebrate their victory in a more dignified manner. We can only extend all our best wishes to King Geldwolf wherever he is.
Who knows; we might never see him again, or... He might appear in a new world somewhere ready to rebuild his reputation, or he might appear under a completely new identity that is unknown to the rest of us... time will tell... [/spoil]

This rare photo of thenonseen has been snapped, where he is seen taking a moment of contemplation on now quiet battlefield with MANIC, and looking up into the winter sky almost as if thinking… “who is next?”

2/ MONEY TRAIL
This is what ATSailors village at 600|705 looks like after King Crisis has taken it over for NAKED in the longest running war of W42:

This shows relatively how aggressive each tribe is, though it is not entirely accurate. The second graph shows the ODA increase from the last issue. This show how much attacking a tribe has done in the last two weeks. It too, however, is inaccurate because of of inactives also needing to be cleared out for in-tribe nobles.

1/ SHINING SUN

A new book will be out on the market next week, written by the duke that most analysts describe as: ‘likes to keep the low profile’.
Dauthi’s “Will Sun Ever Shine Again…” is his attempt to break a little bit the wall of silence surrounding the mysterious duke, usually found residing in his villa protected by heavily armed bodyguards, which doubles as AOK Central Command.
“Yeah, it was my attempt to dispel some myths about me.”
Not surprisingly, the biggest interest was generated by 'Manic Years' chapters (48 – 72) which reveals in more depth his dealings with late King Geldwolf.
“Lord have mercy on his soul. Can’t talk negatively about the man. We had good dealings and we were on very friendly terms. He was a very nice guy if you knew him outside of TW.”
The war that turned Bio into W42 superpower is condensed into chapters 64-69. “There wasn’t much of it to be open and it is no secret that AOK made good with that unfortunate event between Bio and Manic."
Now that things have come to pass, AOK will be revealing a lot of classified info. My book draws from them. Although I don’t think there is any groundbreaking stuff that nobody could have guessed. Read and judge for yourself.
Funny, all this buzz around one part of the book. Nobody made any comments on the part of it titled ‘Childhood’ for example”.
Hagermester of Mod War was heard commenting: “Yeah, pulled the strings to get the exclusive limited print run and bought the book. No offense to Dauthi – I skipped “Childhood” and the rest, (couldn’t care less about Dauthi’s childhood, no offense to him) and went straight to ‘Manic Years’. We also had dealings with Geldie in MW, just curious to see what Dauthi is saying about him. Pretty fair and accurate I must say.”
Dauthi concluded with: “Look, I’m open about things when the right time comes to reveal them. No need to blab them out too soon, but like I said, they are now history so let have it out there. I’m pretty much same like ATSailor – nothing to hide… when the time is right to do so.

2/ SYMBOLIC VICTORY

This weeks marks the moment when the last presence of NAKED in K76 has been eliminated after the epic battle against its last village at 687|722, up until recently held by Jac6923.
The somewhat ragtag (obviously due to recent fighting), but clearly enthusiastic and proud looking bunch of W.O.H warriors obliged the W42 News team and posed for photo in front of the village HQ, after which the new owner, Eric Twina made a brief comment:
“It was great op for all of us here, and a good symbolic victory. The last vestiges of the old Resistance in K76 have been finally removed and we look forward to dealing with the new threat rising in K77. Scouserjoe doesn’t scare us.
This wouldn’t be possible without the great teamwork in W.O.H, and especially the effort of abc727, who was a marine in all of this. Jac6923 fought bravely, but in the end… we won and are ready to move towards the new victories. That’s all I have to say.”

To think that I slumped into bed at 6 am and slept until 4 pm that day, after finally sending the plan away to everyone... I don’t know.”

I know of a few accounts that have switched hands to players who couldn't cut it because the better players decided to move on. The few active good players left in their ranks will be the reason they stay up top since they can keep most little tribes around them at bay.

I'm not a fan of how they claim their leadership is setup, - but - thats because I've never been in a tribe thats successful in that type of setup. Nyuk's biggest failures if the fact they can't stay off the forums... again my opinion.

2/ DIPLOMACY IN OVERDRIVE
[spoil]With PINT's surprise invasion of IDS a flurry of diplomatic activity is still taking place in the North East of W42.
Secretary General of Organization of the United Tribes of W42, RagingPanda has made an emergency visit to the newly created war torn region.
“My delegation had to fly over that arc at the top of K35 that is connecting Bio and AOK, which is relatively safer flying route, since as you know everything from it downward is in turmoil in various other wars,” Panda commented for W42 News, “but we managed to arrive safely and I have already had talks to both King Shrek and Mefisto and both parties are open to talks but… not right now.”
When asked why did he wear the Lemur skin as oppose his panda one, he replied: “Panda is associated with ModWar, so in this case my lemur business suit was more appropriate for the role in question that I'm doing.”

3/ WAVE OF ANTI WAR PROTESTS ROCKS SOUTH EAST W42
[spoil]With the 5 month anniversary of the “W.O.H vs NAKED” war on 16th April, a wave of anti-war protests have spilled onto the village streets of W42, on both W.O.H and NAKED territories.
Especially of interests was a newly formed ‘War vets for peace’ group, led by Darkcrusader99 who made a statement:
“Although I am actually warring right now as part of Mod War, I have been asked to take upon me the leadership of this anti-war group. Why? Because I too have been part of that war. In fact, you’ll be hard pressed to find someone in South East who hasn’t been involved in it one way or another. Look at the people following me on the street… there are both W.O.H and NAKED ex-soldiers who came out to protest this never-ending war, together. I believe we speak for a lot of people when we say; enough is enough.

5/ CONTROVERSY SURROUNDS FILM FESTIVAL
[spoil]One of most debated documentaries this year, “Deadly Cargo” directed by Sbymarch, has generated a lot of controversy due to its subject nature.
“Right now we have an arms smuggling operation unlike anything W42 has seen since AOK backed up MANIC in its war with BIO,” Sbymarch explains somberly to the packed audience members of the AOK Film Festival. “We can’t be exact with the numbers but anecdotal evidence suggest something like 5 to 6 KTA chartered planes from other tribes land every night in IDS, to deliver arms of every possible calibre, sourced from black markets all over W42.”
Smuggling companies are created in lesser known tribes where planes are chartered. So you have planes from TIRED, SNIPE, TDH, PR and so forth landing to allegedly pick up fish. But it is what they bring in their cargo holds that makes them the real profit. Of coures behind them are KTA officials.
In fact had I had more time to do this film, which by the way was made before this war with IDS started, I’m certain I would discover enough evidence and documentation to implicate both Mefisto and Aaronr2 as the masterminds behind the operation.”
Both Mefisto and Aaron2 offered a similar response that the film is nothing more than blatant propaganda designed to tarnish IDS and KTA reputations.
“All lies and make believe,” Mefisto commented over the phone, “my tribe exports fish… sue us! In fact it is more the matter of PINT’s envy over our economic success.”
Aaronr2 was even more forward with his response: “Fabrication and lies. KTA is not behind all those cargo planes, flying in, picking up fish. The tribes that dispatch them are doing it on own accord. Most likely what happened is Sbymarch saw some troops, rams and cats being sent in support and made a big deal out of it. You have to understand, personal ally borders and tribal borders are often not the same, so of course you will have people supporting their PA’s across the line.”
Apache Warrior, director of W.O.H Film Festival offered his own perspective. “Yes, we showed it here because we believe that audience should be given the chance to make up their own mind if what they seeing is art or propaganda.”
Finally, Mad Mikepc felt obliged to call us into the Newsroom upon hearing the documentary will be featured in W42 News.
“Look, I guess I should explain my name on the film poster. The executive producer… let me get off straight away with saying I curse the day I spent a single cent on the project. Not for the fact it is a bad film or not, because I don’t really care, but for the fact that ever since this controversy started my dukeship turned into a daily misery of having to deal with all these dukes looking at me weirdly.
So let me come out clean: I’ve been advised if I help finance this film and it fails I get all sorts of tax breaks… and now it is turning into success and I’ll be the one ending up with the tax bill. Sure I made a profit from it but at what exact cost…
There are all sorts of things I get blamed for legitimately so I don’t want to be blamed for something I got dragged into by someone else.”

You got to understand, ever since XCLSV disintegrated in K65 after W.O.H's invasion and victory, the whole K is a dangerous and lawless hellhole with no real authority. Trinity dominates it but other major tribes are present there. Local warlords are really in charge and yes…their loyalty has to be bought… yet their activity also has to be kept in check.
And it is most likely Dallock who is behind keeping Trinity’s star performer in check. What will most likely happen is Mike4599 will get back his funds after Trinity gets its cut. It will be a warning to him about sharing fairly. After that, we expect for things to settle down inside Trinity… but not K65."

This interview was done at the height of the war against MANIC, just under two weeks ago. It was few days after Rivers left and came back and things didn't look good for MANIC crew.
At this stage it doesn't look like King Geldwolf is active and his whereabouts is unknown. MANIC is no longer a viable tribe in W42. Bio! and TOP have won a victory in less than three weeks.

Everything is coming back in order, though, I will not say its done yet... we made a good start, but still a long way to go, a way with a lot of turns in it...

What he did to MANIC is no less then betrayal, I made that very clear to him, but I can put things behind me, and give someone a second chance, after all, without river, I wouldn’t even be on this game, let alone leading a tribe, or be so successful.
He really was responsible for 80% of the leadership, I’m just the face of manic
If he disappoints me again, he knows he has to go, and there will be no return, if he however succeeds, he can become a full baron.

AOK are supporting us, not a load yet, as we haven’t requested that much, but where asked, they respond, and fairly quick I might add....
Of course just like every alliance we have our issues, usually cross-noblings

This show how much attacking a tribe has done in the last two weeks. It too, however, is inaccurate because of of inactives also needing to be cleared out for in-tribe nobles.

A new book will be out on the market next week, written by the duke that most analysts describe as: ‘likes to keep the low profile’.
Dauthi’s “Will Sun Ever Shine Again…” is his attempt to break a little bit the wall of silence surrounding the mysterious duke, usually found residing in his villa protected by heavily armed bodyguards, which doubles as AOK Central Command.
“Yeah, it was my attempt to dispel some myths about me.”
Not surprisingly, the biggest interest was generated by 'Manic Years' chapters (48 – 72) which reveals in more depth his dealings with late King Geldwolf.
“Lord have mercy on his soul. Can’t talk negatively about the man. We had good dealings and we were on very friendly terms. He was a very nice guy if you knew him outside of TW.”
The war that turned Bio into W42 superpower is condensed into chapters 64-69. “There wasn’t much of it to be open and it is no secret that AOK made good with that unfortunate event between Bio and Manic."
Now that things have come to pass, AOK will be revealing a lot of classified info. My book draws from them. Although I don’t think there is any groundbreaking stuff that nobody could have guessed. Read and judge for yourself.
Funny, all this buzz around one part of the book. Nobody made any comments on the part of it titled ‘Childhood’ for example”.
Hagermester of Mod War was heard commenting: “Yeah, pulled the strings to get the exclusive limited print run and bought the book. No offense to Dauthi – I skipped “Childhood” and the rest, (couldn’t care less about Dauthi’s childhood, no offense to him) and went straight to ‘Manic Years’. We also had dealings with Geldie in MW, just curious to see what Dauthi is saying about him. Pretty fair and accurate I must say.”
Dauthi concluded with: “Look, I’m open about things when the right time comes to reveal them. No need to blab them out too soon, but like I said, they are now history so let have it out there. I’m pretty much same like ATSailor – nothing to hide… when the time is right to do so.

This weeks marks the moment when the last presence of NAKED in K76 has been eliminated after the epic battle against its last village at 687|722, up until recently held by Jac6923.
The somewhat ragtag (obviously due to recent fighting), but clearly enthusiastic and proud looking bunch of W.O.H warriors obliged the W42 News team and posed for photo in front of the village HQ, after which the new owner, Eric Twina made a brief comment:
“It was great op for all of us here, and a good symbolic victory. The last vestiges of the old Resistance in K76 have been finally removed and we look forward to dealing with the new threat rising in K77. Scouserjoe doesn’t scare us.
This wouldn’t be possible without the great teamwork in W.O.H, and especially the effort of abc727, who was a marine in all of this. Jac6923 fought bravely, but in the end… we won and are ready to move towards the new victories. That’s all I have to say.”

To think that I slumped into bed at 6 am and slept until 4 pm that day, after finally sending the plan away to everyone... I don’t know.”

The few active good players left in their ranks will be the reason they stay up top since they can keep most little tribes around them at bay.

2/ DIPLOMACY IN OVERDRIVE
[spoil]With PINT's surprise invasion of IDS a flurry of diplomatic activity is still taking place in the North East of W42.
Secretary General of Organization of the United Tribes of W42, RagingPanda has made an emergency visit to the newly created war torn region.
“My delegation had to fly over that arc at the top of K35 that is connecting Bio and AOK, which is relatively safer flying route, since as you know everything from it downward is in turmoil in various other wars,” Panda commented for W42 News, “but we managed to arrive safely and I have already had talks to both King Shrek and Mefisto and both parties are open to talks but… not right now.”
When asked why did he wear the Lemur skin as oppose his panda one, he replied: “Panda is associated with ModWar, so in this case my lemur business suit was more appropriate for the role in question that I'm doing.”
Mr. Panda obliged us and we were allowed to take a photo where he is seen mediating between the two warring parties:

3/ WAVE OF ANTI WAR PROTESTS ROCKS SOUTH EAST W42
[spoil]With the 5 month anniversary of the “W.O.H vs NAKED” war on 16th April, a wave of anti-war protests have spilled onto the village streets of W42, on both W.O.H and NAKED territories.
Especially of interests was a newly formed ‘War vets for peace’ group, led by Darkcrusader99 who made a statement:
“Although I am actually warring right now as part of Mod War, I have been asked to take upon me the leadership of this anti-war group. Why? Because I too have been part of that war. In fact, you’ll be hard pressed to find someone in South East who hasn’t been involved in it one way or another. Look at the people following me on the street… there are both W.O.H and NAKED ex-soldiers who came out to protest this never-ending war, together. I believe we speak for a lot of people when we say; enough is enough.

4/ BILLY COMES CLEAN... AND NOT OXICLEAN
[spoil]After a brief leave of absence from the X (external forum) Undead Billy Mays granted us a quick visit to a plush clinic in the relatively exclusive and safe area of AOK territory.
“The reason for my absence is the need to seek treatment. With my recent undercover engagements I started to suffer from serious identity crisis. You know… who I really am? Am I really W.O.H in heart? Or Mod War? Or Naked, Matrix, XCLSV… all this existential questions have started to eat me inside. It was time to seek help, and I did it, and there is nothing wrong about it. There is a guy under the spotlights who made me famous and then… there is this guy right here, standing in front of you. It is time to finally get to know him better. Sooner or later, I’ll be back doing what I do best, but now I need peace and quiet. Thank you.”

5/ CONTROVERSY SURROUNDS FILM FESTIVAL
[spoil]One of most debated documentaries this year, “Deadly Cargo” directed by Sbymarch, has generated a lot of controversy due to its subject nature.
“Right now we have an arms smuggling operation unlike anything W42 has seen since AOK backed up MANIC in its war with BIO,” Sbymarch explains somberly to the packed audience members of the AOK Film Festival. “We can’t be exact with the numbers but anecdotal evidence suggest something like 5 to 6 KTA chartered planes from other tribes land every night in IDS, to deliver arms of every possible calibre, sourced from black markets all over W42.”
Smuggling companies are created in lesser known tribes where planes are chartered. So you have planes from TIRED, SNIPE, TDH, PR and so forth landing to allegedly pick up fish. But it is what they bring in their cargo holds that makes them the real profit. Of coures behind them are KTA officials.
In fact had I had more time to do this film, which by the way was made before this war with IDS started, I’m certain I would discover enough evidence and documentation to implicate both Mefisto and Aaronr2 as the masterminds behind the operation.”
Both Mefisto and Aaron2 offered a similar response that the film is nothing more than blatant propaganda designed to tarnish IDS and KTA reputations.
“All lies and make believe,” Mefisto commented over the phone, “my tribe exports fish… sue us! In fact it is more the matter of PINT’s envy over our economic success.”
Aaronr2 was even more forward with his response: “Fabrication and lies. KTA is not behind all those cargo planes, flying in, picking up fish. The tribes that dispatch them are doing it on own accord. Most likely what happened is Sbymarch saw some troops, rams and cats being sent in support and made a big deal out of it. You have to understand, personal ally borders and tribal borders are often not the same, so of course you will have people supporting their PA’s across the line.”
Apache Warrior, director of W.O.H Film Festival offered his own perspective. “Yes, we showed it here because we believe that audience should be given the chance to make up their own mind if what they seeing is art or propaganda.”
Finally, Mad Mikepc felt obliged to call us into the Newsroom upon hearing the documentary will be featured in W42 News.
“Look, I guess I should explain my name on the film poster. The executive producer… let me get off straight away with saying I curse the day I spent a single cent on the project. Not for the fact it is a bad film or not, because I don’t really care, but for the fact that ever since this controversy started my dukeship turned into a daily misery of having to deal with all these dukes looking at me weirdly.
So let me come out clean: I’ve been advised if I help finance this film and it fails I get all sorts of tax breaks… and now it is turning into success and I’ll be the one ending up with the tax bill. Sure I made a profit from it but at what exact cost…
There are all sorts of things I get blamed for legitimately so I don’t want to be blamed for something I got dragged into by someone else.”

‘Decision 2010 – BIO’ as media termed it was a hotly contested election race between I Less Than 3 You (ILT3Y), Bellerion and “3rd Option” candidates (joint ticket by Thenonseen, Scott Stebbs and Darkaniken2).

3/ WARLORD CLAIMS EVERYTHING IS LEGIT
[spoil]A powerfull K65 Trinity warlord, Mike4599, denied that large amount of cash and gold coins found in one of his villages came from illegitimate sources of income. Trinity’s Department Of Internal Affairs, headed by Chief Inspector Dulcamara has raided the village, acting on a tip off from an anonymous source, ceasing the funds.

“If that cash pile is a result of looting in K65” she stated, “then certain guidelines have to be followed in regards of how it is divided amongst the tribe. 10.7 mill PP and 23,000 gold coins is not what we expected when we decided to make a surprise raid on the village. I for one, cannot recall Trinity receiving it’s fair cut as per rules and procedures we have.”

“Well sue me for earning a decent living!”, Mike4599 exclaimed in response when queried by W42 News. “The money and coins have all been saved up from legitimate investments I have all over K65. I kicked something like 3.5 mill PP and 7,000 gold coins in taxes back to the tribe. The money they ceased in the raid is clean.”
Brisgr949 of ‘Bio’s Institute for K65 studies’ thinks it is not so:
“You wouldn’t think it but K65 is one of the most dangerous places of W42, just after K44 territory and the new frontlines that opened in the North West.
Our educated guess is that Mike4599 has his fingers in many illegitimate pies; drug trafficking to affluent AOK and BIO areas whose appetite for drugs is staggering, counterfeiting W.O.H currency as part of Trinity’s war effort, arms dealing to IDS F via KTA. There is even evidence of connection with King Crisis’ Go-Go chain of strip bars…

You got to understand, ever since XCLSV disintegrated in K65 after W.O.H's invasion and victory, the whole K is a dangerous and lawless hellhole with no real authority. Trinity dominates it but other major tribes are present there. Local warlords are really in charge and yes…their loyalty has to be bought… yet their activity also has to be kept in check.
And it is most likely Dallock who is behind keeping Trinity’s star performer in check. What will most likely happen is Mike4599 will get back his funds after Trinity gets its cut. It will be a warning to him about sharing fairly. After that, we expect for things to settle down inside Trinity… but not K65."
