The players regrouped the next day and launched again, which is where I think we snagged the vill or two off him (not sure).

Took one from me in the first real wave (Lord tool I think). It was a good attack. I didn't notice it was 5 nobles for some reason. So I ended up miss-calculating and thought my cancel snipe with ~2k/2k would hold it. I cancel sniped the first noble but with the split nuke the second noble managed to kill off the rest of the cancel snipe barely.
