It had been so long since I had been in here I figured I'd pop in and see what's what.
PS. Thanks for the earlier shout out midnight, it's good to know at least some people understood what i tried and wanted to do.
Ah, I missed these...
3. Ugofree: Creater of Viruis, built for the purpose of fighting PnP, solid concept, poor execution. Offspring of Daethon in all things.
Great guy, fought fair, kept his tribes spirits up against overwhelming odds, never surrendered, never gave up an easy village, the best defender on this server (outside PnP). He was an enemy but I admired the way he carried himself, so peaceful and humble.
thankyou mid ,yeap i choose poor execution i ddnt play with politics ,
but am not an offspring of deathon (i mailed oly once with him i learn the game with padx brothers)
Valsar quoate:
- Ugofree: My first opposition who made me realise just how far i still had to go and how much i had to learn. Only fought him indirectly through TESB accounts he was sitting in k25 but it was clear how good a defender he was (and how little chance i had of making any progress while he was around ). Yet he never showed any sign of arrogance and always carried himself with dignity and respect!
happy to see you still r ember me.anyway thank you friend.
yeap your trains still are best i have seen i know only way i have to keep u silonce is chat with you coz i was already defending 3 fronts of Tesb.p
When you get to the stage of having to snipe all the time there is no turning back. To say a good defender is someone who does just snipe is poor.
If under large scale attack & able to work out multiple timings to save both walls & troop loss now that takes skill.
Going one stage further & even being able to read the surroundings so as you have no need to even move troops or spend all day on the game now that is pure class
LOL Perhaps you are only now seeing the Ugo that I knew.
Others have said he is a good defender.
I never saw that. He only knew how to stack. I don't think he ever sniped anything from me. Stacking takes no skill. I don't blame him though; if I can stack, I stack; if not, I snipe. Meh, maybe he was a good defender while living in the core but I never saw it on the rim.
Others say he never gave up a vill easily.
His deletion was an easy giving away of tribe vills.
Others have said he is humble and not arrogant.
Perhaps as a player???... but as a diplomat he was arrogant. His "Join me or die" invitations and merge proposals internally, largely gave him weak players who didn't want to stand up for themselves and externally, well, it gave his enemies fuel for the fight. His quoting of the good things said about him only shows that he is self-absorbed.
Others say he helped his tribe.
To me, the greatest injustice he did to his tribe was to delete. A good player, a loyal player, and even much more so, a good and loyal leader, would have assured at least his frontline vills were internally nobled. Instead he deleted allowing the tribe's enemies to take his barbs and his ally (IMP) took many of his former vills from Virius to themselves. Many Virius players have told me how they felt screwed over.
Others say he kept his tribe's spirits up against overwhelming odds.
Hmmm. I think tribes like G.Barb and UEW were against overwhelming odds, not Virius. Overwhelming is when a player 4x the size of your tribe's largest player attacks.
That said, I missed you for a long time, Ugo. I enjoyed attacking you and eating you. But now, meh, I don't miss you anymore.
When you are small, as I was at the start of the Virius - G.Barb war, dodging and sniping is what you have to do to stay alive. I do believe there were times Ugo could have kept me from taking his vill if he had dodged and sniped. To top it off, he frequently sent trains at me with no nukes in front of them or escorted with the first noble. He was cocky and sloppy. If he underestimated or didn't understand what could be done with the dodging or sniping on the part of the enemy, I think it says he just didn't get it at worst; at best it says the once "great defender" got lazy. Remember there were 3 brothers co-playing at times, surely one could have gotten up to dodge or snipe...and time some nukes before his train to show he understood the concept.
