For the Who vs. DETOX/HAWKS war in the south, taking K65 and K55 were relatively easy. The Who players in the area were generally uncoordinated, though some fought with some individual skill. The main problem was that most gave up as soon as they started losing villages.
K45 is already proving to be a different battle, as expected. 'Who' cares about that K, has some of their better players located there (or sitting there), and will actively defend it. Given the speed of the world, things will probably bog down for a long time. Who has plenty of close-range support, while HAWKS and DETOX must still generally send long-distance nukes from the K60's and south.
I'm not as involved with the north, but from my perspective Watch and Legion had early gains, and Who had some good counters to even things out some. Who benefited from Watch leadership leaving at a bad time, causing a merge between Legion/Watch. They took advantage, which they should. The merged Legion has since stabilized.
I don't think anyone ever expected Who to be a pushover. At the start of the war, they were #1 and it took several tribes allying to rival the same # of villages. Others have hinted at the reasons for it.
More than anything, I think the ongoing war has been a saving grace to the W33 (outside of the western edge TW/KDK/E= fighting). It helped bring some people back active that were teetering on leaving from all tribes and has finally added some fun and challenge. We'll see how long activity lasts...
Edit: I'm guessing you've already checked this thread out, but the world map is here to help visualize everything:
