Actually, Japanese kamikaze isn't desperate. In their culture, it was one of the most respectable positions in the military. For a japanese in that time, to die for their country is the highest honor imaginable. Kamikaze pilots were quite easy to come by since the culture is based around respect and the families of those pilots were treated much better than usual.

Yes, I know that the Japanese have a long standing tradition of honorable suicide, but that didn't mean that employing kamikazes wasn't a desparate action on the Japanese's part. If it wasn't desparation, then why didn't they employ them much earlier in the war? They didn't start using them until we were pushing them out of the Pacific and had nearly killed all of their experienced pilots.
Desparate situations call for desparate measures.

I agree with you here. I being Russian were told many stories about wwII from my grandparents. A lot of Russians would just drink vodka and charge the German's with Pistols, and Russians have the most pride for their country.

This might be a terrible stereotype but every russian i have ever met is crazy. I was in a Best Buy and bought the last xbox360 on the shelf a few years ago and this russian said he was going to cut me with his butterfly knife if i didn't give it to him.
Had a few russian foreign exchange students at my school who were all sent back for similar reasons.

.Just about every movie made in Hollywood involving the Russians are always positive propaganda for the West, James bond series alone are quiet a testament as to how Russian's were being stereotyped over the years during the Cold War, and they are still being stereotyped even after opening the country to the foreign nations, despite the current understanding of Russian culture, some stupid film always makes fun of the culture by presenting a middle aged crazy Russian with a mole on her face, a hairy tash, monobrow and the good ol' gap tooth.

Communism is a theory that will never work, despite myself being originally from one of the Soviet States, which never even seen communism, only socialism, bloody dictators >_> I still don't believe that even if it were achieved it would surely fail or deteriorate at a fast rate, it is a stupid idea for as long people are greedy, the communism won't work. Since greed is one of the human's basic characteristics I doubt communism would have ever worked even if some greedy dictator decided to give the power to the "People". If I wanted to make money I'd write a book too slagging off the citizens of the Soviet State for the actions of their leaders, I am quiet positive I would sell millions of copies in America alone . The Cold War is never trully over.
